Care Package Ideas

Care packages are great! They are a wonderful way to let your soldier know you're thinking of them and can work great to send things your soldier needs as they are away. While there are an abundance of web sites with care package lists, this list is not extensive. Some of our favorites are listed below!
- Granola bars - These can be great when taken out of the box and put in a package to your love! Our favorite to send is a variety pack of Quaker Oats brand Chewy granola bars. The best way we have found to package these is placing a plastic bag of individually wrapped Chewy bars in the package.
- Favorite foods - When Steve was in Korea, he craved a specific kind of peanut butter in almost every package I sent! To make their favorite foods more personal, wrap them with a bow or make a special label or note showing that you care!
- Requested books - Steve likes to read a lot in his down time, so usually each care package he receives has a new book from a series he likes.
- Homemade treats - Whether you like making cards, letters or any type of handmade object for your significant other, sending something uniquely made by you can show how much you care and give your soldier a boost in his spirits!
- Pictures - While sending pictures via email can be nice, a tangible picture to hold or hang up is even sweeter! Be sure to send appropriate pictures, as packages can be inspected. The last thing your soldier needs is to get in trouble with his unit for receiving risqué photos.
