About "Megan Writes"

Picture
The thought process behind Megan Writes began in July-August 2009. Dissatisfied with the lack of audience/reach of the blog I had and finding most other resources out of date or inadequate in some manner, I decided to create a website telling my story, while also providing valued information for others finding themselves in similar relationship situations and needing advice or resources.

While this site is primarily for the wives, fiancees and girlfriends of soldiers in the United States military, anyone can find helpful information as friends and family members of servicemembers. What bonds us is the loyalty we have for our men and women in uniform, and whether your servicemember(s) is/are stationed at home or far away, the information contained here can comfort you, make you laugh, or help you along your journey in your connection with your soldier(s).

Inspiration for advice and resources for what is provided here came primarily from my own experiences, both online and in real life. I use nicknames or first initials to protect the innocent and not-so-innocent; no, not every friend/adversary I have his named Jack or Jill or Sally or Bob. I will, however, refer to my boyfriend, Steve, as his actual name, because more often than not it will show up anyway in my
Twitter updates, which you can see live on my Home page or at Twitter.com. Plus, Steve is his name, so altering it would be kind of silly (in my opinion). I sometimes also use "we" because it's too awkward to say "I" or "me" in regards to some content, but don't be fooled: only one person is running this particular site (so far).

You can address questions or comments about me or my site in the blog on the Home page or at my Contact page. I welcome any feedback you would like to provide! I am also open to contributors and will take contests or giveaways into consideration if you first contact me about publishing your content on my blog.
